How to Bet on the NBA
There are various NBA betting options available to NBA fans. Pennsylvania online sportsbooks will take action on all regular season games and all playoff games, including the NBA Finals. Here are some of the bets you’ll be able to place online:
Moneyline – This is a straight win or lose bet. The team with + NBA odds is the underdog, and the odds are how much you can win. If the 76ers are +180 against the Warriors, then you can win $180 for $100 wagered. If they have – NBA odds, then the odds are how much you have to wager to win $100. Were the 76ers to get -180 against the Cavaliers, then you have to wager $180 to win $100.
Point Spreads – You’re betting on the margin of victory or defeat for the teams in a game. If you bet the underdog, they can win or lose by that margin for your bet to pay out. The favorite must win by more than the total. If the 76ers are -6.5, they must win by more than 6 for the bet to pay.
Totals – With this bet, you’re betting whether the total points in a game will go over or under. For example, If the O/U for 76ers vs. Spurs is 215.5, and you bet the over, then the combined points scored must be 216 or more.
Parlays – Bets involving two or more games. To win a parlay bet, none of your bets can be a loser. If you bet the Bulls, 76ers, and Lakers to cover the spread and the 76ers fail to do so, you lose your bet.
Teasers – This is an alternative form of parlay betting where bettors can manipulate a point spread to improve their odds. These bets pay less than regular parlays.
